Learn the basics of seed starting.  Grow to understand seed requirements and soil, water, temperature and transplanting recommendations.  Get an early start for a bountiful harvest!  Claire Watson, the master, will teach this class.

Floral Globe or Living Wreath - A Classic!

Learn how to plant Viola or pansies into a two piece durable frame for a cheerful spring presentation.  These are reusable frames, and we will share some ideas for year round use.

Class cost for globe: $33.00 ($7.50 at registration, $25.50 at class time)

Hypertufa Basket Planter*

This planter will showcase pansies or your choice of annuals in a springy container.  What a great project that depicts a weathered antique!  This planter will be a great addition to your garden or entryway. Please bring rubber gloves and protective clothing.

The Basics of Vegetable Gardening

Learn how to successfully raise your own vegetables from our greenhouse expert Claire Watson, who has been growing vegetables for family and friends for 70 years!!  Plan your family's vegetable garden during school break week on Earth Day 2010!

Contain Gardening with Claire Watson - Spring is here!

Our annual fashion show of new plants!  Claire will share her ideas and tips for planning, planting and care of container gardens.  Select a container from our international collection and fill it with a combination of choice annuals and tropicals for a striking presentation.  Cost depends on container and plant choice. Everything You Need to Know About Spring Landscaping Practices

Terry Ettinger, one of our most beloved local gardening experts, will share his experience regarding the dos and don’ts of springtime lawn care and landscaping.  Don’t forget to bring your mystery samples, photos and problem descriptions.  There will be plenty of time for questions and answers!

The Living Topiary – The Ultimate Container!

Create a lush living topiary with your favorite annuals for a full season enjoyment.  Great for a unique entryway statement, weddings and special events!  You will use a durable, 3-piece, reusable metal system placed in a larger clay pot.  Class cost: $55.00 for clay pot and 12” topiary system. Cost of plants chosen runs approx. $40.00. You may bring your own clay pot. Please pay $7.50 when registering.

Please Note: You must pre-register by providing registration fee of $7.50. This is required since planning for materials and your working area is necessary. Please note any special requirements for your class such as a glue gun, wire cutters, rubber gloves, embellishments, etc.
